We are growing fast and looking to find an experienced quantitive sports analyst to join our team at our one of a kind office on the top floor of Södra Teatern!
Whether you are passionate about tech, esports or both we can offer a unique opportunity to build state-of-the-art probability models for a wide array of complicated match events in a fast-moving business. Matches in esports have a very unique structure and set of mechanics not seen in many other sports and our unique data set leaves no data out. We're looking for someone that wants to be challenged and wants to challenge us, someone passionate about mathematical models, statistics and its use in sports.
Outside of day-to-day tasks we also engage in internal "show and tells" between members of the team that work with new and interesting technologies and problems. We also have a strong culture of social activities in and around the office, with Södra Teatern as our playing ground which offers some truly unique events especially in the summertime when there are live concerts in the evening just outside our balconies. Things like coffee, tea, snacks and fruits are of course always available for free and the views from the office are an unmatched way to wind down when needed.
We are looking for someone with experience in sports modelling, a passion for esports and driven by the challenge of building robust prediction models. You are also someone who wants to join a team where “best in class” is the given standard to go by. It is also important to have the knowledge and experience to know what to build in-house and what services, libraries or frameworks are best brought in from the open-source community, so time and resources are spent efficiently.
We are a tight-knit team who work closely together to solve novel and complex problems in sports modelling. Many esports games have complicated match structures which are not seen in ordinary sports modelling. Consequently, we are looking for someone that is communicative and open to both helping colleagues and ask for help and input, as needed. As a lead esports modeller, it is your responsibility to develop great models, performance metrics and to construct and maintain documentation.
To be able to work efficiently as a part of our team, we would like to see that you have some practical experience in a few of these areas (personal or professional).
- Sports (Esports) models
- Probability theory, stochastic processes and estimations thereof
- Bayesian inference
- Python, R, SQL (Golang is a big plus)
- Efficient Monte Carlo methods (e.g. variance reduction methods)
