We are growing fast and looking to find experienced developers to join our great team at our one of a kind office at the top floor of Södra Teatern!
Whether you are passionate about tech, esports or both we can offer a unique opportunity to build state of the art data- ingestion, storage, distribution and analytics applications in a fast moving business. We're looking for someone that wants to be challenged and want to challenge us, someone passionate about technology and motivated to see both yourself and the team as a whole grow and excel!
Outside of day-to-day tasks we also engage in internal "show and tells" between members of team that work with new and interesting technologies and problems. We also have strong culture of social activities in and around the office, with Södra Teatern as our playing ground which offers some truly unique events especially in the summer time when there are live concerts in the evening just outside our balconies. Things like coffee, tea, snacks and fruits are of course always available for free and the views from the office are an unmatched way to wind down when needed!
In a back end developer we specifically look for people who are driven by the challenge of building robust, scalable and performant applications, where “best in class” is the given standard to go by. What is also important to have is the knowledge and experience to know what to build in-house and what services, libraries or frameworks are best bought or brought in from the open source community, so time and resources are spent efficiently.
We are tight-knit team who work closely together to solve novel and complex problems in different areas of our platform. Consequently, we are looking for persons that are communicative and open to both helping colleagues, and ask for help and input, as needed. As a senior engineer it is also your responsibility to drive development practices, to introduce new methods and frameworks that ensure high code quality as well as a modern and efficient codebase.
To be able to work efficiently with our code-base, we would like to see that you have practical experience in a few of these areas (personal or professional).
- REST & WebSocket API design and implementation
- Cloud based services and infrastructure
- AWS: Redis, Kinesis, Elasticsearch, Lambda, Aurora etc
- Micro service infrastructure
- CI/CD workflow
- Linux environment
- SQL dialects & schema design
Here are some applications you will work with, and possibly take lead on:
Atlas is our most central REST API and service. It is used both internally and externally and serves gigabytes of esports scores, statistics and data to our clients each month. The main challenges here are to ensure the up-time and latency of our API by making sure all services are self-healing, auto-scaling and performant. For most of our customers, Atlas is the most vital backend system they have. See more here.
We use the WebSocket protocol to push time sensitive data from our system to clients around the world. The main challenge here is to be able to efficiently push and fan-out the constant stream of events created in our system to clients, at minimum latency, while making sure no messages are lost (even if a client is disconnected for a while). See more here.
At the heart of our platform are a number of data parsers and aggregators that help our partners extract and find more value in their products. These ingestors work with a large variety of more or less documented data formats and APIs. The main challenges here lay in reverse engineering data formats and protocols so data can be extracted from all relevant sources, and to manipulate the data so it can be stored in normalised, easy to use, formats across all the games we cover.
